Steinberg SpectraLayers Pro Overview

Steinberg SpectraLayers Pro is designed for editing the spectral component of sound. It is noted that the new product can boast many new features, including artificial intelligence technology, as well as tools for music, sound design and sound restoration.

In addition to the new Unmix Chorus module (allows you to separate lead and backing vocals), the program is said to have received the Unmix Crowd Noise module (separates crowd noise from a live performance), opening up more possibilities for mixing “Live” performances. In addition, the software offers an improved Unmix Song algorithm, automatically separating up to seven individual instruments (effective when mixing stems, drums, multiple voices, etc.).

In turn, the editor has acquired an AI-based Voice DeClip algorithm for restoring cropped speech recordings, according to the developers, it was trained on thousands of cropped and uncropped recordings. In addition, the Voice DeNoise function has also been upgraded to better handle excessively noisy content.

Other new features include the ability to add files to the batch dialog using drag and drop (with subsequent selection of the desired export parameters and visualization of the result as a mix or independent layers); a redesigned graphical interface (new main screen and compact panel view); it is now possible to select multiple layers to merge, duplicate, delete or group them and simply drag them into a Cubase or Nuendo project in ARA mode; the Transfer Brush tool (moves content between source and target layers in real time) and the Transient Pencil (for drawing or reconstructing transients directly on the spectrogram).

Installation

Delete previous version (recommendation from R2R, so it’s your discretion)

Note:
If you already have the certificate (R2RCA.cer) and Silk Emulator v1.4.0 installed , skip steps 1-3

1. _ Install the R2RCA.cer certificate
   Win+R > type certmgr.msc > Enter > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates > RMB on “Certificates” > All tasks > import > point to the R2RCA.cer file

You can check whether the certificate has been installed using the R2RCERTEST.exe file

2. _ Install Setup Steinberg Silk Emulator v1.4.0.exe
3. _ Reboot the OS
4. _ Install Setup SpectraLayers 12 v12.0.0.421.exe
   If you need ARA integration, don’t forget to install VST3
