macOS Sequoia Overview

macOS Sequoia is a new operating system for Mac computers, announced at WWDC 2024.

macOS Sequoia Features

Support for Apple Intelligence. This is a set of artificial intelligence features that provides a tool for summarizing text in messages and other applications, and automatically composing responses to emails.

Mirror iPhone to Mac. Allows you to access your smartphone from your computer, view and respond to notifications, and drag and drop content between devices. Your iPhone will remain locked and even go into sleep mode to save battery.

Updated Safari browser. Gets a new Highlights feature powered by machine learning to highlight key information on web pages. Reading mode is also enhanced with summaries, tables of contents, and improved video viewing.

Passwords app. Renamed from Keychain, it will be able to store many more types of sensitive data, such as Wi-Fi passwords, access codes, verification codes, shared passwords for services.

Automatic splitting of application windows on the desktop. This will allow you to abandon third-party utilities that were previously used for these purposes.

Installation

The image (5.hfs) is designed to create a clean installation flash drive of the original distribution downloaded from MAS to Windows using the Boot Disk Utility program.
1. After unpacking, you will receive a 5.hfs file – the original macOS installer from MAS for BDU.
2. Prepare the installation USB flash drive:
– Launch Boot Disk Utility (BDU)
– Format the flash drive – click [Format]
– Write the macOS image (5.hfs) to the second partition of the flash drive (NONAME) – click [Restore]
3. The flash drive is ready for installation on original Apple devices, but if you plan to install Hackintosh, pay attention to the first partition of the flash drive, named BDU. The bootloader (Clover) is located there. You will perform all the necessary steps to configure the bootloader (EFI folder) yourself.
