Installation files

If you have:

1. Windows on Intel/AMD processors (i.e. x86 architecture ) – ideaIU-*.exe or ideaIU-*.zip
2. Windows on Qualcomm processors (i.e. ARM architecture ) – ideaIU-*-aarch64.exe
3. MacOS on an Intel processor (i.e. x86 architecture ) – ideaIU-*.dmg
4. MacOS on Apple Silicon (i.e. ARM architecture ) – ideaIU-*-aarch64.dmg
5. Linux on Intel/AMD processors (i.e. x86 architecture ) – ideaIU-*.tar.gz
6. Linux on Qualcomm or Apple Silicon processors (i.e., ARM architecture ) – ideaIU-*-aarch64.tar.gz

Well, I hope you’re not mistaken ; the * here refers to the version of IntelliJ IDEA. For example, instead of ideaIU-*.exe, you should be looking for ideaIU-2025.3.exe.

Hacking

To hack it, follow these steps: unzip jetbra.zip.
Copy the jetbra folder anywhere, for example, to your user folder (for example::C:UsersUserDocuments). We go into the idea64.exe.vmoptions file, which is located in the bin directory where IDEA is installed (let’s say for Windows – C:Program FilesJetBrainsIntelliJ IDEA 2025.3bin,
on MacOS – /Library/Application Support/JetBrains/IntelliJIdea2025.3/idea.vmoptions or /Applications/IntelliJ IDEA.app/Contents/bin/idea.vmoptions), and add the following:
For Windows: -javaagent:[PATH TO JETBRA FOLDER]jetbraja-netfilter.jar=jetbrains (for example: c:usersusernamejetbraja-netfilter.jar=jetbrains )
For UNIX-like OS: -javaagent:[PATH TO FOLDER JETBRA]/jetbra/ja-netfilter.jar=jetbrains (for example: /home/jetbra/ja-netfilter.jar=jetbrains )

ATTENTION!!!  There should be no spaces between the “-javaagent:” line and the path to the cracker!!! The path must contain only English characters. There should be no Russian characters!!!

-javaagent:C:Program FilesJetBrainsIntelliJ IDEAjetbraja-netfilter.jar=jetbrains – this is how it will work.

-javaagent: C:Program FilesAlibaba and the 33 ThievesIntelliJ IDEAjetbraja-netfilter.jar=jetbrains – but that’s not it

The cracker folder must contain all files from the jetbra.zip archive, otherwise the cracker won’t work! So, specify the path to the cracker wherever you unzipped jetbra.zip!
Next for all OS:
–add-opens=java.base/jdk.internal.org.objectweb.asm=ALL-UNNAMED
–add-opens=java.base/jdk.internal.org.objectweb.asm.tree=ALL-UNNAMED

Update: For MacOS , you will also need to edit the jetbrains_client.vmoptions file.

This step is optional! In the jetbra folder, there’s a directory called scripts. Go there and run the following:
For Windows: install-all-users.vbs
For UNIX-like OS: install.sh
After running the script, you’ll need to reboot the OS.

Launch the IDE, and a window with licenses will appear. Click “Activation Code,” copy the contents of the Serial.txt file into the text field, click “Activate,” and enjoy!

You don’t need to install Java to run IntelliJ IDEA because the JetBrains runtime is bundled with the IDE (based on JRE 18). However, a separate JDK is required to develop Java applications.
