Canva Affinity Overview

Canva, which now owns Affinity, introduced Affinity, a single free app for working with vector graphics, photography, and layouts.
The Affinity suite was a set of three apps: Affinity Designer (for working with vector graphics), Affinity Photo (for working with raster graphics), and Affinity Publisher (for layout design). Now Affinity offers all of the same features, but in a single app. While developers previously attempted to combine the three apps into a single workflow, each app effectively requiring separate purchase and installation, things have now become simpler—it’s all one app, and it’s free.
Supported formats include PSD, AI, PDF, SVG, TIFF, IDML, and many others. Like previous versions of Affinity Photo, the new app supports non-destructive editing of raster images without losing the original.

Canva Affinity Features

Three tabs: Vector for vector graphics tools, Pixel for raster graphics, Layout for layout, and Canva AI, which contains paid AI features. You can work with the same document in any of the tabs, each with access to the appropriate tools.

The available functions and their layout are largely similar to those in Photoshop and other Adobe programs, so getting the hang of them will be relatively easy.

However, there are some unique features. For example, “Filters” in Affinity are implemented as adjustment layers applied to the layers below.

Adobe raster and vector formats, as well as RAW files from various cameras, are fully supported for import, and a wide range of formats with flexible settings are also available for export.

Notes

1. Do not launch the program after installation is complete.
2. Place the Serif.Interop.Persona.dll file in the folder with the installed program.
3. For Russification, if necessary, place the “ru” folder in the folder with the installed program.

Note: The patch (Serif.Interop.Persona.dll) allows you to use the program without authorization or license confirmation.
If you want to legally register on the official website, you don’t need step #2. Please note that the website blocks users from Russia.
